It is a hardware issue in my case. The reason I'm posting is because I find this post very helpful. Since the system appears to be stable now, I have just disabled the automatic updates (even though the annoying taskbar messages won't stop) and assume that I will just not be Windows Vista Black Screen After Login I popped it out, popped it back in, the system now boots every time.
