Someone advised me to divide the files into related groups. I did try exporting a Makefile and building it that way and it did work but that kind of make having an IDE useless. The typical message onhere does not include all information needed to guess at what might bewrong.

It looks like most solutions to linker problems involve having to fake out Builder by deleting files and reopening the project. Looks like the company is too busy trying to getting everyone to upgrade instead of keeping their existing customers happy. I'll email you the .bpr file.
